E-mail from Elise Arnst on 2011-12-6: I have put the data for Cobb forest 1977-80 and 1986 on our ftp site at: ftp://ftp.landcareresearch.co.nz/National%20Vegetation%20Survey/Aaron%20Marcuse-Kubitza/ Please let me know when you have retrieved the data so I can remove them. The data are released subject to the standard NVS protocols and copyrights, which are attached. Some more information about this dataset that might be helpful: 1977-78: 20x20m quadrats were at regular spacings along 11 random transects. 1980: 12 more quadrats with recces were subjectively sited to further sample the low altitude red beech forest. Saplings are only a-d subplots. 70 seedling/69 sapling plots. Errors are due to date gaps. No p.mat or cult codes recorded. Diameters & Recces: 1977-78: 20x20m quadrats were at regular spacings along 11 random transects. 1980: 12 more quadrats with recces were subjectively sited to further sample the low altitude red beech forest. file errors due to date sequence gaps greater than 5 months. Top heights are estimated in this file for plots 8 2, 8 6, 16 1, 18 1, 18 3, 18 5, 22 5. Saplings: 20x20m quadrats were at regular spacings along 11 random transects. 1980: 12 more quadrats with recces were subjectively sited to further sample the low altitude red beech forest. Saplings are only a-d subplots. 70 seedling/69 sapling plots. Errors are due to date gaps. No p.mat or cult codes recorded In 1976 the saplings were only in a-d and in 1986 they are in a-p subplots Only 69 saplings have data on them. 1986: Recce: Standard tier heights entered as not recorded on the plot sheets. 240/240 co-ords done. Saplings: In 1976 the saplings were only in a-d and now they are in a-p subplots Only 69 saplings have data on them. No p.mat and only some cultural codes were recorded.
