Taxonomic schema refactoring¶

Completed items have been crossed out

1. Rename taxonpath -> taxonconcept
2. Link taxondetermination directly to taxonconcept: Happens automatically from renaming taxonpath -> taxonconcept
3. Rename taxonconcept.scope_id -> concept_reference_id
   • stores the name of the person who identified the plant (who the determination is according to)
4. Rename taxon -> taxonname: Merged taxon with taxonconcept instead
5. Rename plantstatus -> taxonstatus
6. Link taxonstatus directly to taxonname: It's linked directly to taxonconcept
7. Move taxonname.authority_id -> taxonstatus.classification_id: This is now taxonconcept.creator_id, for the entity that created the taxon concept
8. Rename plant* -> taxon*
9. Point taxon* (formerly plant*) directly to taxonstatus: This was already the case

Availability¶

• Mark is away next week 10/15-19 at an NSF meeting in VA, but will be back next Friday night
