• Brad's e-mail with steps to ease validation process
• include data dictionary link to provide definitions of terms
• re-send specimens validation extracts to Brad once errors fixed

• validate RAINFOR (March/April) part of SALVIAS

• placename scrubbing (required for georeferencing)

Data refresh¶

• FIA
  • first download all data from *datamart page*
  • Jim Clark's Ph.D. student *Kai Zhu* will help interpret the data: Brad e-mailed him on 2013-1-23
    • he has a schema which subsets the CSV files on the datamart page
  • cond table has metadata
  • we eventually want to map all tables on the datamart page
  • group downloads by table
• GBIF: NCEAS needs to sign MOU

New data¶

• any new data not added by end of Jan/mid Feb will be added in April
• add BRIT, TEX to VegBIEN datasources list
• make sure RAINFOR data access policy is in DB
• get updated RAINFOR data: "Brian will talk to Jens(?) and Nomally(?) to start the conversation." (Martha)
• BIEN website needs page on how to become a data provider
  • summarized data OK

VegCore¶

• add definitions for non-DwC (invented) terms
• exchange schema template to structure input data like it
  • April/May

Georeferencing¶

• use centroids to filter false positives
• use counties for range modeling, not niche modeling
• requires placename scrubbing
