Data validation¶

• use Google spreadsheets for validation

• e-mail Brad the BIEN2 CTFS extract

FIA¶

• flag FIA plots with problems instead of deleting them
  • but for range modeling, just delete the problematic plots
• FIA has plots rather than specimens which are cultivated

Analytical DB¶

• Brad will find person who can provide info for each item
• need sampling methods to calculate abundance
• e-mail out to the wider BIEN group

Geovalidation¶

• Jim:
  • "I can't guarantee that the code in its current state could be run end-to-end without intervention. It's close, but probably not bulletproof." (biengeo README.txt) .
  • the VM is still there and could be used with a new table (meeting on 2013-4-1)

• web service rather than downloadable software because GADM data is large (32 MB compressed)

• Aaron will switch to using Google spreadsheets linked to BIEN webpage or Redmine wiki as the means of presenting data providers with data extracts.
• Brad will look at the raw CTFS data tomorrow (Aaron will point Brad to it). Brad will decide what the CTFS data look like and whether or not Rick needs to be contacted. Brad has gotten in touch with Rick
• Derived data products document (Brad):
  • Indicate who can provide the necessary documentation for each deliverable.
  • Add the join table to enable people to be able to look up any species in BIEN and navigate to where it is in the BIEN phylogeny.
  • Send the document to everyone in BIEN.
• Martha will see if Mark can attend the new meeting time (Thursdays 8:30 AM Pacific time) and poll everyone if not.
