• but generate extracts for some of the simpler datasources that have not yet been validated (MO, GBIF, UNCC) if waiting on anyone to make progress on the more complex ones

VegBank validation¶

• current validation format (with input columns renamed to VegCore) is OK with Mike Lee
• Mike Lee has provided feedback

• send out e-mail to confirm time of next week's call (Friday at 10am)

• send updated CVS data (MS Access file named cvs-archive-<date>.mdb)
  • ideally by next Monday?

To do for Paul¶

1. make sure any changes you've made to Jim's scripts are in svn
2. create script that runs the 2 scripts needed to scrub new data
   this is scripts 4-6 in the README .
   • include a change directory command (cd your_scripts_dir) at the beginning of the script
   • add the path to this script to the README and commit to svn
3. create script that runs the 3 scripts needed to load shapefiles, etc. to the DB
   this is scripts 1-3 in the README .
4. note which tables need to be cleaned up before geoscrubbing can be re-run
   • is this just geoscrub and vegbien_geoscrub? no, also vcountry, vstate, vcounty, but apparently not geoscrub itself
   • ideally, add TRUNCATE statements for these tables to load-geoscrub-input.sh
5. make a list of the commands to install dependencies see README.txt > Dependencies (at top)
   • some of these will be in the output of
     grep -F apt-get ~psarando/.bash_history
   • also note any files that needed to be downloaded, and where these were downloaded from these are now downloaded automatically by load-geoscrub-input.sh .
     (e.g. gadm_v2_shp.zip from http://biogeo.ucdavis.edu/data/gadm2/gadm_v2_shp.zip)

   1. make Mike Lee's fixes feature requests deferred until all datasources' critical fixes have been made
   2. send new extract
   3. once extract sent, send periodic e-mail reminders if necessary
