TNRS fixes

  • both of the TNRS issues (#943 TNRS wrong selected match bug, #945 TNRS TPL synonyms bug) have been fixed on the TNRS end on the TNRS dev server (Martha)
actually, only #945 (TNRS TPL synonyms bug) has been fixed on the TNRS dev server (fix now confirmed). #943 (TNRS wrong selected match bug) has not been fixed, so we will instead have to apply our workaround for it.

decisions

issue priorities

  1. #953 (CVS/VegBank issues): the 2 remaining critical issues: #2,10
    • the CVS critical issues are priority 1 (Martha)
    • fixing the mapping/loading of major datasources is a higher priority than documentation testing (Mark)
    • Bob felt that the CVS data is not useful unless the issues are fixed (Mark)
      • possibly he was referring to issue #2 (all rows have is_geovalid=NULL), which would cause the CVS data to be excluded from views that use only geovalid data
  2. discuss whether to do #962 (walk through loading of datasources), #961 (test staging table reloading), #952 (refresh GBIF) we will do #962, #961
    • _Martha:_
      > We still need to decide whether to do #962 (walk through loading of datasources), #961 (test staging table reloading), #952 (refresh GBIF), #767 (detect column mismatches), and #814 (rename columns by name, not position).

      1) 962 and 961 are definitely the next top priorities. Please begin work on those with utmost speed. Mark may want to roll 814 into that work. Also, as I said before, I think this may be dependent on refactoring the TNRS workflow to use parse the JSON file (you and I can discuss this).

      2) GBIF also really needs to be reloaded, but is second highest priority.

  3. discuss with Mark whether to do #767 (detect column mismatches), #814 (rename columns by name, not position)
  4. #962 (walk through loading of datasources)
  5. #961 (test staging table reloading)
    • this is worthwhile (Mark)
  6. #943 (TNRS wrong selected match bug)
    • do in parallel with #962, #961 (Martha):
      > Do you want me to work on that in parallel with #962/961?

It's necessary for the TNRS workflow to work in order to successfully load the db, so yes in parallel unless M ark says otherwise.

  7. #767 (detect column mismatches), #814 (rename columns by name, not position)
  8. #952 (refresh GBIF)
  9. #944 (phpPgAdmin bug)
    • don't do (Martha)
    • OK to fix if simple (Mark)
  10. #945 (TNRS TPL synonyms bug)
    • don't do (Martha)

CVS fixes

  • OK to wait until the end to reload the analytical DB, as long as we leave enough time (Martha)

to do for Aaron

CVS fixes

  1. provide Bob with a dump of the refreshed CVS data when it's ready
    • cc Brian E, Martha, Mark
  2. fix remaining critical issues
  3. by end of month, make sure analytical DB reflects normalized DB

traits data refresh

  1. post link to traits table on wiki, with list of columns see Traits data
  2. provide Cyrille with a dump of the refreshed traits data so he can validate it
    • put it in the same Dropbox shared folder that he provided the data in
