• fixing disk space leak should be top priority (Brian)

aggregating validations¶

• OK to move on to plots before fixing the specimens bugs (Brad)
  • this refers specifically to bugs in the import, not the queries that Brad wrote

NY bugs¶

• each VegCore term should have its own VegBIEN field (Brad)

SALVIAS bugs¶

• Brad thinks we need to add the 2 missing projects (with ipr_specific = '') before we can fix SALVIAS
  • but these do not prevent us from running the validations or troubleshooting the queries, so it's not clear why this has to happen before debugging SALVIAS. in particular, this would require the various import bugs to be fixed first, which is time-consuming.

public release¶

• want to get validations done before releasing it (Martha)
  • Brad says the errors we have been finding are fundamental and should prevent a release
    • however, the errors identified as fundamental (plot codes not formed correctly in FIA; 2 of 14 projects missing in SALVIAS) do not prevent using the core fields in the data (lat/long, taxon, etc.) for analyses
• also want to get BIEN members' eyes on the data before releasing it (Martha)
  • but Brad says that would delay the release even further

FIA filtering¶

• Brad will create a separate index mapping plot codes to a boolean of whether to include them or not
  • this can then be joined to the analytical_stem table to filter it
  • requires plot codes to be formed correctly

• SALVIAS datasets with projects.ipr_specific = '' are actually redistributable (Brad). when this field is blank, this just means it was not yet updated with the string "There are no specific use conditions attached to this dataset".

2. ensure all the projects in Brad's subset are included in the staging tables
